We are so excited to announce our new store opening in South town mall in Draper Utah. Also we are opening a Kiosk in the Fashion place mall. Our new line is very fun and we hope all of our customers can come see our new stuff and store. We are opening up on Halloween at 3:00 pm. Bring your children to the mall for great trick-or-treating in the warmth. It is a great place to be for Halloween. Thanks to all of the great Persnickety supporters we are able to do this and we are excited to make this step forward. We are still needing a few more employees so if you or anyone you know needs a great job, send them our way. It is a great mom job (limited hours and great discounts). We hope to see you all soon. Our website is taking a lot longer than we expected so hopefully it will be up soon. I will post some photos soon!

Wow it has been way too long since I have posted a blog and given an update on Persnickety Clothing. A lot is happening around hear and we have been so busy with the future of the company. Right now we are finalizing a retail store. We will do the home parties and the website, which by the way thankfully is being redone, so that for one it actually works and you can transact business on it, and two it will look and feel so much better. No offense to my husband but he did it and has never attempted to anything along those lines before. It is pretty great considering that fact. However it does not work for those of you who have tried to buy something and could not. Sorry. I am so excited to get that up and running.
I have to tell you "SPRING IS DONE!!!!!!!" I can hardly believe it. This is huge for me. I have the two most fabulous woman helping me design now and I can't even hardly stand how much I love it. My dear Mother who is the most incredible interior decorator on the planet. She has been doing it for 30 plus years and amazing at what she does. Anything that has to do with color and textiles she is the woman. I learned all I know from her. Thanks mom! Next Jen Owen. She is one of the most talented people I have ever met. And the funniest too. She has an awesome line of girls and boys applique shirts called Ruby moon. She is an artist, and has worked in the clothing industry for 15 years. She is so stinking talented it is not even funny. She is designing with us now so keep and eye out and if you know her you will see her stuff shine out through Persnickety Clothing and you will love it. I am so happy to have these two. I can hardly wait to see spring all made up. If you liked my first two lines, well my next is so much better and spring is hard to tell you in words how much I love it. Super yummy!
Craig went to Nicaragua this summer and made some great connections there. The people there are so great and the need for help is overwhelming. There is great poverty there and we hope to start donating and working with these amazing people soon. Craig had some really great experiences there and we will share more of the info later about this trip. There are some great things in the works and we have crossed paths with some of the neatest people on earth. The Lord has opened  doors for many amazing things and we are so excited to donate clothes to many boys and girls around the world.
I will let everyone know soon what mall location we will be opening  up in the next few weeks. I should know by the weekend for sure. It has been a long drawn out process and we are anxious to be done and moved in. Thanks for all of the support!

Gross snotty nose!
Isn't photo shop crazy!

Girls playing so Persnickety . I just can't help but take pictures when they look so cute! Notice I don't even care if they get dirty out here. I just throw them in the wash and they look brand new again!

And this is why!! We were cleaning dirt out of noses ears and all of the nooks and crannies for days. So much fun

Babe Ruth to be

My son Isaac loves baseball and truly wants to be Babe Ruth.

Cookies

Leah said to me the other day "Mom will you teach me how to cook?" What a happy moment as a mom to have your oldest daughter ask you to teach her to do something that would be soooo helpful. So we started with cookies. It was great. Yummy too.
Big soft ginger cookies!
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp.ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cinnamon
1/2 ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients. In seperate bowl, cream butter until creamy and light. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Mix dry ingredients into beater. Shape into balls 1 1/2" size. Roll lightly in sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Cook for about 10 min. Don't overcook. They are better when soft! Enjoy and take to the people who need some sweetness in their life.

Photoshoot

O.K. folks- The photoshoot today was amazing!!! Thanks to highlite photography. I can't wait to have the pics back to show. This line is great. I love seeing the girls in it. It is amazing how it looks so different on each person. It takes on its own personality on each and every person that is wearing it. Thank goodness for all of the cuties out there. I love being a girl! I love having girls! And I love making clothing for your cute girls. Thanks to all of the support I have out there. We could not do it without all of your help and support.
Craig is going to South America to get the ball rolling on the buy one give one. He leaves the end of July. I am so incredibly excited. As much as I love dressing your girls, nothing will put a smile on my face quite like seeing those clothes go to children who are literally desperate for them. I talked to one of my contact people who we are working with to distribute clothing to in Central America and he said that most of the families we will be giving to make 3-5 dollars a day. Needless to say- these clothes are much needed. Thanks for supporting the cause. I feel like we are off to such a great start!

We have landed successfully in our new  town  American Fork.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

I am the worst blogger! I really will one of these days be better at it. I just need to make it a habit. We are officially moving up to American Fork. This weekend! I can't remember a time that was this busy. However life seems to always be this busy. I don't know if it will ever get less busy. Let's hope! We have exciting stuff going on with Persnickety. I have just created some new goods that will be out mid May. I can hardly wait for you to see. It might knock you over with cuteness though so watch out! We are officially manufacturing now so things will be in stock in stead of made to order. WHEW! Cutting all of that fabric one at a time is enough to make one sick, or two because my husband worked right along with me. We almost drug the kids into it. Just kidding! Then when I went to the manufacturer and watched him cut through 60 pieces at once I almost cried. Now I am trying to find myself one of those machines. Amazing! I never new that existed. The things one can learn. Hmmm. Life is grand! Count your many blessings name them one by one. I must go to bed. I am making no sense. Nope, none at all. Goodnight!

It's all coming together.

It has been a while since my last post and much has happened. Last week I had 3 great parties and had a bunch of fun watching the little girls twirl around in the dresses. I have posted a few photos of one little girl that loved the clothes. We have been cutting and sewing like crazy to keep up with the orders that have come in. Exciting!! We are also launching the website at www.persnicketyclothing.com Take a look and let me know what you think. I would love it if you would pass the link on to people that you think might like my stuff. People can order online and we ship within 2-3 weeks. Thanks a bunch.

I think Highlite photography did a fabulous job!!! I can't believe how perfect this photo shoot went. When you put so much work into something and it turns out like this, oh what a beautiful day!!! Thank you to all of the beautiful models. I could not have asked for a more perfect willing group of girls. It was so natural. And there moms were so helpful. It made my job feel so doable. I actually can't wait to do it again. I thought before hand that it would be so hard. It was the prep work that was overwhelming. Thanks to all of the helpers.

So if you like what you see here you can place an order before my site gets up. Just email me at www.persnicketyclothing@gmail.com I can do sizes 12 mos.-8 years. Also please help me spread the word through getting your girlfriends together and having a party for me (it will be worth your time) or direct them to me through your blog or facebook or however you would like. Starting a business is insane. There are soooooooo many details. I think websites are a nightmare. It seems like we have been trying to create one for 2 years now. Actually we have. I think we are finally on to something though. Thank you to my determined brother-in-law Jeff. He has introduced us to Goodbarry, and I think we can finally make it work.

Here are a couple of more pics.

FINALLY BLOGGING

This is the sweetest little apron dress ever. She gets stopped where ever we go.
Finally I am blogging. I feel so cool. I can't believe how afraid of computers I am.  If it was not for sweet little Kimmy, my  lil' sis', I still would not be doing this. I am so excited about the new things I have learned over the past couple of days. You know, loading pictures on facebook, email and now my blog. I feel so special. Most people learned that years ago. I  can not say that computers are my best friend. Watch out though, I am going nuts with this!
I will be posting the real goods soon. I am meeting with the photographer on Tuesday. We will shoot the whole line. No more home pics.
These overalls are so funky with all the crazy fabrics. They are very comfy to wear also.
